Middle School

Welcome to Term 3!
We are excited to begin another busy and engaging term filled with new learning opportunities and exciting challenges.
As we settle back into the classroom, students will take time to reflect on their progress from the first half of the year and set new learning goals. Goal setting encourages students to take ownership of their learning, celebrate their achievements, and identify areas they would like to continue developing throughout the term.
In English, we will be trialling a new literacy block designed to provide students with rich opportunities to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. As part of this program, students will dive into the fascinating world of Greek mythology through the classic tale of Theseus and the Minotaur. They will explore the themes, characters, and structure of myths while building comprehension, vocabulary, and creative writing skills.
In Mathematics, our focus will be on patterns and algebra. Students will investigate number patterns, identify relationships, and develop their understanding of algebraic thinking through hands-on activities, problem-solving tasks, and real-world applications.
This term also marks the conclusion of our History Unit of Inquiry. Students will consolidate their understanding of the concepts explored so far before transitioning into an exciting new Biological Science unit. Throughout this investigation, they will explore the characteristics and needs of living things, deepen their scientific inquiry skills, and engage in hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity about the natural world.
We look forward to a wonderful Term 3 filled with meaningful learning, collaboration, and opportunities for every student to grow. Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to share our learning journey with you throughout the term!
