St Vincent de Paul Society Christmas Appeal
I start this newsletter with a gigantic thank you to our wonderful community!
Once again we have shown the generosity and care within our school! We have raised close to $400 in donations for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal!
Thank you so much to all who purchased our beautiful Christmas cards! We hope they make friends and family smile as they open the envelope and see the art work. We are so proud of all of our students and grateful they too have embraced this Social Justice project wholeheartedly.
This donation will be used to aid families in need with food, housing and essential bills relief this Christmas time.
Pope Francis once wrote "...devotion is ‘a sort of spiritual alertness and energy whereby charity acts within us or, we act by means of it, with promptness and affection."
The devotion and affection could not be more apparent in our entire community top to bottom, so this quote perfectly describes you all!
Advent in Action
Our Advent celebrations have been truly wonderful, our students have responded in a reverent and reflective manner. Over the last two weeks we have discussed the themes of Hope and Peace, with our students being able to discuss practical real life examples of each.
Our next celebration will be Monday the 15th of December on the theme of Joy. All parents are welcome to attend at 3.15PM with our school.
End of our Year
It's a common thing to say, but how quickly does it feel this year has gone! 2025 has been full of wonderful times, challenges and opportunities to see our Faith in Action.
I thank our entire community for their support in my role!
We are excited to welcome Mr Ru Lameijn as our acting principal next year. Ru has served as an RE Leader for many years so I look forward to learning from him and the enthusiasm and ideas he brings to our parish community.
We wish Mrs Carlei all the very best in her retirement, at the same time knowing we will miss her so dearly! It is hard to think of a better role model for our students, especially with her strong faith and work with our church and parish. I, like so many others, have only grown as a person by spending time with Margaret. Our prayers are with Margaret as she starts her new journey, but know she will always be a valued member of our community and will visit us often!
We are so blessed to be together at St Anthony's. May all of our families have a wonderful school holiday break, celebrating the arrival of the Lord at Christmas!
Please find a prayer below to finish our school year.
God Bless, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
