Congratulations to our Chess team on their outstanding performance at the ACS Chess Championship, where they finished an impressive 2nd overall. This result is a wonderful achievement and reflects the dedication, preparation, and commitment shown by all students involved throughout the season.
In the lead up to the competition, students consistently attended before school training sessions, demonstrating a strong willingness to improve their skills and prepare thoroughly as a team.
At the Championship, the team competed with great composure and determination across all matches. Students displayed excellent strategic thinking, and patience throughout the competition. Their ability to remain focused and support one another across the day was particularly pleasing to see.
We congratulate all members of the team on this fantastic accomplishment and thank them for their commitment to the Chess program. Special mention to our departing Year 12 students, Arihaan S and Sienna P who have been involved in our ACS squad for a number of years. Finishing 2nd overall is a result all our team should be extremely proud of.
Great work!

Congratulations to Owen V on his exceptional performance at the 2026 Australian Athletics Junior Championships. Competing against some of the country’s best young athletes, Owen achieved outstanding results in both of his events.
Owen finished 2nd in the 200m, showcasing his speed and composure in a highly competitive field, before producing a remarkable performance in the 400m to claim 1st place and become National Champion. He also broke is personal best time by close to 2 seconds in the final.
There was also fantastic success for several other students across the Championships. Ella S performed strongly in the Discus, finishing 7th, Chris M achieved excellent results in the Triple Jump ending in 11th position, and Elijah impressed in the 110m and 400m hurdles, highlighting the depth of athletic talent within our school community.
These achievements are a reflection of the dedication, perseverance, and commitment each student has shown in their training and preparation. Representing at a national level is an outstanding accomplishment, and all students should be extremely proud of their efforts and performances.
We congratulate Owen, Ella, Chris, and Elijah on their success and look forward to following their future achievements in athletics.
On Friday, our U15 Girls delivered an excellent performance in the first round of the Bill Turner Cup securing an impressive 4-0 victory. An early goal from Makayla Z gave the team a great start and they continued to dominate throughout the match.
The second half showcased the quality of our play, with excellent ball movement and some clinical finishing. The girls worked cohesively as a team, with great support shown to one another throughout the game.
We look forward to their continued success in the competition, where they will now play Thornbury.
