National Simultaneous Storytime

We will be holding a book cover/colouring competition for all year groups. Students are invited to complete a colouring in sheet or design their own creative book covers based on Luna Roo. Two winners will be selected, and each will receive a copy of Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller as a prize.

What is National Simultaneous Storytime?

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is an Australia-wide group reading and literacy event where schools, libraries, and other institutions gather children to read the same picture book at the same time. The event promotes the value and fun of books, reading, and storytelling, while celebrating the work of the chosen author and illustrator.

In 2026, the selected book is Luna Roo: the Kangaroo Baller, written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd and illustrated by Jake Minton. The story follows Luna Roo, a spirited kangaroo, and her friends as they chase their football dreams across the outback, blending action, teamwork, and fun to inspire young readers.
