Pentecost Sunday and Confirmation 24th May
We are approaching a very significant milestone in the spiritual journey of our Year 6 Catholic students. For several weeks, they have been actively preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, which will take place on Sunday, 24th May at 11am Mass.
During the Mass, the Bishop Murphy will lay hands upon the candidates, anointing them with Sacred Chrism as they receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety and Fear of the Lord.
This sacrament marks a "strengthening" of the grace received at Baptism, empowering our young people to live out their faith with courage and conviction as they grow into young adulthood.
I invite our St. Mary’s community to keep our Confirmation students in your thoughts and prayers. We pray that they open their hearts to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and continue to grow as light for others.
We look forward to celebrating this joyful occasion with the students and their families.
Congratulations to the two winning art works selected to represent our school in the prestigious 'Operation Art' competition in Sydney; Archer Yr 2 (infants) & Jessica Yr 6 (Primary).
Congratulations to the two highly commended works selected from each class that will be entered into the 'Let’s Hang It' competition run by UNE & NERAM.
