OSHC at Marion

At Marion OSHC we are committed to providing quality learning opportunities, delivered in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

The April vacation care program was a lot of fun especially the excursion to the Beerenberg Café, Melba’s chocolate factory and the playground at Mt. Barker. At Beerenberg the children did some shopping and purchased strawberries, jams and honey, as well as the crowd favourite ice-cream in fancy cones. We had a crazy hair and nail day with lots of fun creations. Bug catching was also a favourite. Easter egg hunt, cooking and craft was very popular with the children. Game day was so much fun especially the Pictionary challenge. 

The July Vacation Care program will be available in week 3 and will be on the school website, at the front desk, in the OSHC room, in the newsletter and sent out to all families via email. Our goal for this term is: Keep the OSHC room tidy, suggested by Charlotte.

In OSHC we are doing lots of outside and physical play on the oval, gym and in the yard including footy skills, creative/nature, chalk drawings. gym games, ball games and playground games. Inside activities include making, puzzles, loom bands, home corner, electronics, reading, help with homework and Lego. 

This week’s specialty menu items are toasted cheese sandwiches, rice crackers, home-made cookies, pretzels, cheese and crackers.

Parents are welcome to offer suggestions for programming ideas and to participate on our OSHC committee which meets twice a term. Being a member of this committee gives families the opportunity to have even more input into the program. If anyone is interested in becoming involved, please come and talk to Renee or myself.

Most families are entitled to Child Care Subsidy so please apply to Centrelink to see if you are eligible. Subsidy is applied to all fees including the additional ones for excursions and Incursions.
