Term 4 : Away We go

It was fantastic to see all of the smiling faces come through the gate on Monday morning after the term break. Everyone looked so refreshed and ready to begin Term 4, which for our Year 6 students will be their last term of primary schooling. Every day counts so we continue to emphasise the need for regular attendance to make the use of every learning opportunity. Obviously students should not attend school if they are unwell but otherwise consistent attendance is vital to ensure students make as much academic and social growth as possible.

Prep Transition

This term we are holding weekly transition sessions for our 2026 Foundation students. These sessions are on a Wednesday morning from 9:00am - 11:00am and are for all students enrolled for next year. If there are any siblings that are yet to enrol or if families know children from other families with school age children who need to enrol please contact the office as soon as possible so these children can also participate in the transition sessions and familiarise themselves with the school routines prior to beginning next year.

Riding to School

As has been mentioned in previous newsletters this year it is wonderful to see students being physically active, either walking to school or riding bikes and scooters. Unfortunately there is a large proportion of students who are riding to school and not wearing a helmet. Not only is this against the law which states: It is mandatory for cyclists and passengers to wear an approved, securely fitted, and fastened helmet when riding a bicycle, electric scooter, or personal transport device, more importantly it is terribly unsafe.

Helmets must be an approved bicycle helmet and comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS 2063.  We are asking for the support of families to ensure that any student riding to school does so safely and legally by wearing a suitable helmet. Although for many of our students they may only be travelling a short distance, we want them to do so safely.

Thank you for your support and assistance with this.

Glasses for Kids

On Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October the 'Glasses for Kids' staff will be visiting the school to conduct the initial vision screening for students who have registered for the program.

Following the initial screening schools are provided with written advice to each parent/carer detailing the outcome of the visit for all participating students to take home.
