Let’s reduce soft plastic waste at BNPS

At BNPS, we have seen an increase in the amount of soft plastic in the yard. 

‘Plastic Free July’ is a global movement to encourage people to reduce plastic waste through simple everyday choices. 

This year, we introduced soft plastic recycling using the orange bags provided by the City of Ballarat. 

Next week we hope to take that one step further by reducing the amount of plastic coming to school in lunchboxes. 

Please support this initiative by using non plastic wraps for lunches. Many families are already doing this which is wonderful. 

Each teacher will tally the amount of soft plastic on an undisclosed day. Let’s see which grade has the least amount of plastic and will be our BNPS sustainable grade for the week.
