Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

CONFERENCES

I would like to start by thanking all the parents, carers and students who attended our Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences on Tuesday this week. These are a wonderful opportunity for students to share their learning from the first semester, discuss some goals for the second half of the year and for parents and teachers to connect as a “team around the learner”.

STEM GALS PROJECT

This week also saw thirteen of our Year 6 girls attend the first day of the STEM GALS program at FedUni TAFE. I had the absolute privilege of attending with them, and to watch them in action as they started to plan their group projects. They listened to guest speakers, followed a design process, and also learned how to use the laser cutters! The girls showed great engagement, leadership, and critical thinking skills, and I had a comment from one of the other school’s teachers as to how wonderful our girls were! An immensely proud moment for me. This program continues throughout the term and culminates in a final showcase on the 8th of September.

CONCERT

All our classes are in full swing with concert practise. It is hard to believe it is less than four weeks away! Mrs Morris and the classroom teachers are busy rehearsing, preparing costumes and making props ready for the 17th and 18th August at Her Majesty’s Theatre. Unfortunately, Her Maj wasn’t quite ready to launch ticket sales earlier in the week, but by the time this newsletter goes to publication our families SHOULD have access to the precious tickets for our 2026 Concert – Journey Through the Pages – A Booktastic Adventure! I cannot wait.

Lastly, a BIG thankyou to those parents and families who have volunteered time at our Bunnings BBQ on Saturday 1st August. Many hands make light work – a great fundraiser for our school.

Until I see you in person,

David
