Lights, Camera, Anglesea! Film Festival Returns

The Anglesea Shorts Film Festival is set to return on Sunday, February 15, 2026, promising another day of cinematic fun for the community. Following the success of this year's inaugural festival, which received overwhelmingly positive feedback from local families, organizers are expanding the event to include neighbouring communities like Lorne and Torquay.

The festival director notes a desire to increase participation from secondary school students and hopes the expanded reach will encourage more older students to get involved.

For aspiring filmmakers of all ages, the Anglesea Movie Club is once again hosting a Film Making Course during the upcoming September/October school holidays. The previous course saw a great turnout with 18 attendees and was a huge success. As spaces are limited, the club is prioritizing registrations from local students before opening them up to the wider community. Be sure to book your spot to learn the ropes of filmmaking and maybe even submit your own short film to the festival next year!
