Physical Education

It has been an exciting and action-packed start to PE in 2025 at Kingswood Primary School! Our students have had the opportunity to participate in various events, clinics and sporting activities run by different sporting organisations.

Water Safety Days

On Wednesday, February 19th and Thursday, February 20th, our Year 5 and 6 students attended their Water Safety Day at Mordialloc Life Saving Club. Students engaged in valuable water safety lessons, CPR and first aid training, as well as learning what a day in the life of a lifesaver looks like. The highlight of the day was getting into the water for some exciting water-based activities, including a flags competition and tug-of-war. The students displayed determination and teamwork throughout the day!

District Swimming Carnival

On Monday, February 24th, the Kingswood District Swimming Team competed in the Mordialloc District Swimming Carnival. Our swimmers put in outstanding performances, and Kingswood finished 3rd overall out of 11 school. An incredible achievement!

A special congratulations to Olivia H and Dylan A, who have qualified to represent our district at the Kingston Division Swimming event on Wednesday, March 12th. Best of luck to both of you!

Sporting Clinics & Taekwondo Sessions

Over the past few weeks, we have been lucky to have some fantastic sporting clinics run at Kingswood:

Field Hockey Clinic – Delivered by Mentone Hockey Club for Year 2 and selected Year 5/6 classes

Taekwondo Lessons – Tiger World Class Taekwondo has been teaching Year 1-6 students during PE.

The Taekwondo sessions have been a huge hit! To build on this experience, Tiger World Class Taekwondo is offering free lunchtime sessions on Tuesdays for 3 weeks for up to 50 students (Years 1-6). These sessions are free of charge. If you’d like to register your child, please see my Compass post with the online registration form.

St Kilda Football Club Visit

On Tuesday, March 4th, Kingswood was thrilled to host Zak Jones, Angus Hastie, and Jack Carroll from the St Kilda Football Club! The players signed autographs, took photos, and answered questions from our Prep – Year 6 students. It was an unforgettable experience for our students, who were inspired by the players' stories and advice.

It has been a fantastic start to the year and we look forward to even more exciting events and opportunities for our students.
