What an amazing effort all of our Grade 3s - 6s did at last week’s interhouse athletics day. The sun was shining and throughout the day, we observed each and every student consistently give their personal bests. There were a couple of our Scotsburn students who even managed to receive some placing ribbons, which was super exciting. We acknowledged these students at last week’s assembly and we will again in the coming weeks, when all of the results are tallied up.

What a great day everyone had!

Bunjil Award Winners

Congratulations to last week’s Bunjil award winners. Heidi D, Zelda C, Nash D and Ella Smith for showing our school values of being Responsible, Respectful and Kind. Amazing effort superstars!

Goodbye and Goodluck Nash!

Last Friday we celebrated Nash’s last day at the campus with a small campus party and acknowledgement at assembly. The Damaskinos family have been part of the Scotsburn campus in some way shape or form for the past 9 years, and we thank all of the support they have provided us over the years. They are making the move down to the beach, which we know has been calling them for quite some time.

Good luck, we can't wait to hear about your adventures when you come back for a visit!

Thursday Staff Professional Development Day - Student Free Day Thursday 19th March

A reminder that this Thursday is a student free day, with all Buninyong Primary School staff participating in a professional development day. We will return to our regular routines on Friday.

Buninyong Primary School Ride2School - Friday 20th March

This Friday we will join up with the Buninyong campus for the annual Ride2School morning. Given our location, this event will be much easier and safer to complete in Buninyong, around the Buninyong campus there.

Students wishing to participate in the Ride2School morning, will complete the ride with everyone at Buninyong, then leave their bike there and get on the bus up to Scotsburn. They can then pick up their bike back at Buninyong after school.

For more information, have a read of the Ride2School section in today’s newsletter.

Date: Friday 20h March, 2026

Time: 8:15am Meeting at Buninyong Primary School (Simpson St)

Where: 2km loop around Buninyong Botanical Gardens

With some of the beautiful weather we had early last week, Pip was also able to enjoy soaking up some rays!

Industrial Action

The Australian Education Union has called on its members to take strike action on Tuesday March 24.  By the morning of Monday March 23, we will know how this action will impact on the school and will communicate this via-Compass. We will make sure to communicate with all Scotsburn families as soon as we can in terms of how this action may impact the Scotsburn campus.

Maths Timestable Rockstars

Our Grade 3s-6s have been loving their daily multiplication and division practice as part of the Timestable Rockstars, and they are starting to reap the benefits during our main numeracy lessons.

Last week at assembly we were able to present some certificates to some students who have completed some achievements. These students were Ella, Cleo, Emily, Tess, Albus and Lachy.

Tess and Locky also received a “Gone Green” certificate, which means they have been able to answer times table facts up to 12 at an average speed of under 4 seconds per question. Incredible!!!

Planning Week

As is our routine towards the end of every term, classroom and specialist teachers are provided with a planning day with their teams to review student data and plan for next term’s student learning.

In order to do this, it means a slight change in the timetable for all students across the school at some stage in the final week of term. On these days students participate in a whole day of specialist classes whilst their usual classroom teacher/s is released to plan.

Please take note of  the planning days below for each year level and remind your child/ren to bring their PE shoes on this day please.

  • Monday March 23rd - SC2
  • Thursday April 3rd - SC1

Parent Volunteer Help

With only a few weeks left in the term, we would love a few more volunteers to assist with lunch orders on Wednesday and Friday. Click on the link below for more information and to sign up.

Thanks in advance!

NAPLAN - Well Done!

Congratulations to our Grade 3s and 5s for their amazing work completing NAPLAN assessments over the past week. All students have been so positive about the experience and have given their best efforts. You should all be very proud of yourselves!

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
