Harmony Week & Japanese Day Celebrations

Cultural Week – Celebrating Harmony Week & Japanese Day (Monday 30 March - Thursday 2 April)
Dear Parents and School Community,
We are excited to announce our upcoming Cultural Week, a special opportunity to celebrate the diversity, inclusion, and rich cultural backgrounds that make our school community so unique.
Throughout the week, we will be recognising Harmony Week, embracing its message that “Everyone Belongs.” Students will participate in a range of activities that promote respect, inclusivity, and understanding of cultures from around the world. Cultural music will also be played at bell times to enhance the festive atmosphere.
A highlight of the week will be our Japanese Day, where students will explore Japanese culture through fun and engaging experiences. Activities may include traditional arts and crafts, language experiences, cultural games, and more. Lunchtime activities will include origami, face painting, and games from around the world. We will also celebrate with our wonderful Cultural Parade, where students are invited to wear their cultural attire, Japanese-themed outfits, or Harmony Day orange.
Cultural Show and Tell:
Class teachers will be hosting a Cultural Show and Tell session at various times throughout the week in their classroom. Students are invited to bring an item that represents their culture, travels, or family heritage to share with their class. They should be prepared to explain what the item is, why it is meaningful, and where it comes from. Teachers will inform families of their class’s scheduled session time.
Please note: This is a student-only classroom activity and is not open to parents.
JAPANESE DAY – WEDNESDAY APRIL 1st
Students will take part in a variety of activities and lessons throughout the day inspired by Japanese culture. There will also be:

Cultural Week is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn from one another and celebrate the diversity that makes our community so special. We look forward to sharing this meaningful experience together.
