YEAR 7
Starting Well

Head of Year 7
Welcome back for Term 2. I hope all students enjoyed a restful and relaxing break and are ready to jump into another busy term.
In the first weeks of this term, students will be reviewing their Term 1 reports. Under the guidance of their Pastoral Mentors, this process allows students to reflect on their progress, identify areas of celebration, and set goals for improvement this term.
These reflective processes are an important habit for students to develop, helping them focus on continued and consistent improvement across all areas of their schooling.
In keeping with our Year 7 theme of Starting Well Together, this week provides a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to connect with their child’s Pastoral Mentor and subject teachers at the Parent/Student/Teacher conversations on Thursday, Week 2, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
These conversations are important in understanding the support required from all to ensure continued student improvement and success.
All conversations will take place in the Hugh O'Brien Centre, and bookings are essential. Please ensure you secure your preferred times with teachers via the Booked system.
In Term 1, Year 7 completed a unit on the health benefits of exercise and balanced nutrition. This term, students will move into their next unit of work on leadership and collaboration.
This unit will require students to wear their Sport uniform for all HPE lessons in both Terms 2 and 3. Please check the weekly bulletin for the daily uniform requirements for each class.
For any concerns or queries, please get in touch with our Head of Health and Physical Education, James Hanlon, jhanlon@cns.catholic.edu.au .
