MARRUNG UPDATE

Marrung & KCC Update – Term 2

This term, our Marrung and Koorie Curriculum Cluster work continues to gather momentum.

The boys’ didgeridoo sessions have started again, with a strong turnout and plenty of enthusiasm. Students have been practising circular breathing using a straw and a cup of water, a small exercise that takes patience, focus and a fair bit of determination. It’s been great to see them encouraging each other and sticking with it.

 Keep that practice going lads.

Sean Candy has been working alongside students in class, sharing stories and supporting learning through hands-on experiences and showing his own Didgeridoo performances on You tube. The boys were ochred up during this session, and it brought a real sense of connection and pride to the group.

The pilot possum skin cloak project is taking shape, with preparations for this to (hopefully) commence Early June. This will be amazing with students contributing to something that will carry story, identity and shared learning that they can then wear to their graduation.

All of this is building towards our Koorie Curriculum Cluster Showcase on 21st May, where we look forward to sharing these experiences with our community.

This is classic learning through doing, together. 😊
