Principal's Report

Dear families,
This week, the weather has finally caught up on us as we have experienced a cold, wet snap. This has resulted in several days of inclement weather timetables. I hope that your children have not come home each day with too much ‘cabin fever’ from being inside all day at school.
2027 FOUNDATION ENROLMENTS
Once again, I thank the new and existing families who applied for enrolment at Holy Rosary for 2027 Foundation. We were really pleased by the number of applications, which unfortunately resulted in me having to decline many applications as we became full. While this is excellent for our school, they were not nice phone calls to make. Acceptance letters went out last week and families have until the end of today to accept or decline our offer.
REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY
On Tuesday, three of our students represented our school at St Arnaud for the Regional Cross Country. Well done to Indy, Ollie and Amy for their efforts (and to their families for arranging their transport). We especially congratulate Indy B for coming 4th in his race.
PUPIL FREE DAY - STUDENT WELLBEING AND SAFEGUARDING
Today, our staff participated in a day of professional learning. We spent the day focusing on student wellbeing curriculum, safeguarding and reflecting on our Classroom Mastery routines and practices. Classroom Mastery is our ‘whole school’ routines that we explicitly teach to students. These routines include (but are not limited to); how we gain attention, how students transition between environments, use of mini-whiteboards, seating arrangements, etc. The idea behind this is that we set routines that can be automated for students and can allow them to reduce their cognitive load, enabling them to focus more intently on learning content.
SCHOOL CROSSING / PICKUP AND DROP-OFF
We have lots of processes in place at HR to ensure that we keep students safe. One of these measures are our crossings. I do ask that families utilise our crossings when collecting students, especially at the beginning and end of the day.
As always, I invite you to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. I wish you all a happy and relaxing long weekend.
