Student Engagement at Corpus Christi 2026
From the Year 1 and 2 Community
Throughout Term 2, the Year 1/2 Learning Community has focused on developing respect in all areas of school life. Students explored what it means to be respectful online, while moving around the school, in the toilets, and during playtime. Together, we discussed positive learning behaviours that help create a safe, supportive, and successful environment in the classroom, on the playground, and in shared spaces.
As part of this learning, students participated in discussions about being Kindness Heroes. These conversations helped build awareness and understanding of discrimination based on skin colour, faith, or culture, and introduced the concept of racism in an age-appropriate way. We discussed what racism is, what it might look like, and why it is important to treat everyone with fairness and respect.
Students reflected on how they can be Kindness Heroes by spreading kindness, including others, and ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of what they look like or where they come from. Through stories, discussions, and everyday examples, students developed a deeper understanding of empathy, inclusion, and the positive impact that kindness can have on our community.
Positive Behaviour for Learning
The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations.
This week’s PBL focus is:
We are LEARNERS
We are learning to move to places on time and be ready to learn.
