Principal's Report

Ms Debra Haddow

Principal’s Newsletter Report: J 19, 2026

As we move through a busy and productive term, I would like to thank our families for their ongoing support. There are many exciting developments happening across the school, and I am pleased to share the following updates.

Enrolments and School Tours

Our Foundation 2027 school tours are well underway, with strong interest from prospective families. It has been wonderful showcasing our school and sharing the great learning opportunities available to our students.

Families seeking enrolment for Foundation 2027 are encouraged to submit their enrolment applications online by 31 July 2026. If you require assistance or have any questions regarding the enrolment process, please contact our school office.

Community Events and Fundraising

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser

Our recent Krispy Kreme fundraiser has been a fantastic success. Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative. Students are eagerly awaiting Krispy Kreme Donut Day on Friday 19 June.

Community Feedback Survey

Thank you to the many families who completed our recent school survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us continually improve our school.

As a result of the feedback received, I have arranged meetings with both TheirCare and our canteen providers to discuss opportunities for further improvement.

Camps 2027

Thank you for your input with the survey. We have used your feedback to secure camps for 2027 for Years 5 and 6.

School Council and Strategic Planning

Our next four-year Strategic Plan is nearing completion.

Recently, I shared a community survey seeking input into the future direction of our school. We are committed to ensuring that the voices of students, families, staff and the broader community help shape our vision for the next four years.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed their thoughts and ideas. Your feedback will play an important role in guiding the future of our school.

Facilities and Grounds Update

There are currently several significant building and improvement projects taking place across the school.

Roof Replacement Project

Our major roof replacement project is now underway. To accommodate these works, classes will temporarily relocate from their classrooms for short periods while construction occurs. We thank students, staff and families for their flexibility during this process.

Basketball Courts and Retaining Wall

We have received approval for the construction of the retaining wall adjacent to the former Year 2 basketball court. This important project will enhance both safety and accessibility.

Our upgraded senior basketball courts are scheduled for completion following the Colour Run event in Term 3.

Bike Shed Project

Work has commenced on improvements to our bike shed area. Students have been actively involved in contributing ideas and designs for the space, helping create a facility that meets the needs of our school community.

Drainage Works

The Department continues to investigate and plan repairs to the drainage system located between the school and the pool. Recent burst water pipes have unfortunately caused flooding in some classrooms and added complexity to these works. We appreciate everyone's patience as these issues are addressed.

Student Safety

Student safety remains a top priority. We ask families to:

  • Avoid parking on school grounds during school hours and do not walk students through car parks—use the pedestrian gates
  • Use designated WAIT ZONES and ensure children remain behind the fence until pick-up
  • Use the school crossing and lights to safely cross the road
  • Be good neighbours and make sure we are parking in the school designated zones. We have many entry/exit points so please use them—not the Kings, Pre-Schol or Maternal health Parking.
  • Caution about parking. I have heard that Frankston Council will be roving to check that we are abiding by the street parking signs.

Excursions, Incursions and Camps

This year we have strengthened our planning and communication processes to ensure excursions, incursions and camps are organised efficiently and communicated clearly.

Families can access information through:

  • Compass events
  • Classroom notices and posters
  • The Finance section of the newsletter
  • Reminder communications sent throughout the term

We understand that managing family schedules can be challenging, which is why we provide advance notice, reminders and payment plan options wherever possible. We do, however, need to adhere to payment and consent deadlines due to external provider requirements and booking arrangements.

We appreciate your support in establishing a routine of checking Compass regularly so that important information is not missed.

Thank you for your continued support of our school and community.

Kind regards,

Deb Haddow
