Co-Curricular Drama

From the Manager of Co-Curricular Drama
Lights, Laughter and Lightning-Fast Wit!
Our co-curricular drama students have been bringing the laughs and showcasing their incredible improvisation skills in recent Theatresports competitions!
On Monday 18 May, the Senior Theatresports team (Liam, Erica, Parker and Kayla (CG12)) travelled to St Augustine’s College to compete in the Impro Australia Schools Theatresports Competition. The team impressed both the audience and judges with their quick thinking, creativity and confidence under pressure. From hilarious status games and clever character transformations to fast-paced scene challenges requiring spontaneous storytelling, the students embraced every moment with enthusiasm and energy. Their performances were highly entertaining, and they should be incredibly proud of the teamwork, imagination and stage presence they displayed throughout the evening.
The excitement continued on Friday night when the Intermediate Team (Isaac (G10), George and Weston (G10); Isabella and Annabelle (C10)) competed at St Andrew’s Cathedral School in the CBD. The students devised a series of very humorous scenes, demonstrating excellent collaboration and adaptability as they tackled a range of classic Theatresports games. Whether creating outrageous characters, or responding instantly to unexpected title suggestions, the team worked together seamlessly and kept the audience laughing throughout the evening.
Congratulations to all students involved for their commitment, courage and creativity on stage. Both teams represented the school brilliantly and continue to show what an exciting and vibrant part of our co-curricular drama program Theatresports can be!
