Farm Enterprises

Rain!

With some rain hitting the ground in the past week, we've started seeing a green tinge appearing in the paddocks.  Seeding is all but finished, with just a small paddock of triticale left to sow.

Many thanks to our cropping crew of Mr de Beer and Mr Rice-Fazey for the hours and effort you have put in over the sowing season.

Parent Interviews

Thank you to those who got down to the farm workshop last Thursday to speak to staff about their progress on farm.  It was great to hear from a number of Year 11 students who are interested in pursuing Certificate III qualifications next year.  It was also great to meet some parents!

Coming up in the next couple of weeks on farm:

  • Checking lambing ewes
  • Fencing
  • Feeding
  • Selecting cattle for mating and artificial insemination
  • Pigs heading for Linley Valley
  • A new bull heading up from Harvey Ag
  • Washing the bar, air cart and tractor
  • Watching the rain fall and the crops and pastures grow!

We hope everyone who needs rain is getting some and that seeding has gone (or is still going) smoothly.
