Weekend Activities
This Saturday we have our usual sports in Beverley and York but on Sunday we have planned to go to the famous Golf Driving Range at "Outtabounds" in North Lakes. This event does have costs involved of approximately $40 for a day of golf, lunch and fun.
Please encourage your student to make the most of activities we put on during Residential time. The more students that attend our activities the more different and adventurous things we can plan.
Building Our Boarders' Skills
At our boarding facility, we actively involve students in community and agricultural industry activities. Four Year 12 male students participate in The Headspace Youth Reference Group, meeting monthly in Northam to provide valuable feedback on Headspace’s services for young people in the Wheatbelt.
On 7 August, we will host the Women in Farming (Tammin Branch) meeting at the College. Guest speakers Aimee Ray (Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management) and Glenice Batchelor (Merredin & Districts Farm Improvement Group - MADFIG) will share insights from their expertise.
By welcoming industry professionals into our space, sharing meals, and engaging with community groups, our students develop essential life skills such as mental health support, meeting facilitation, public speaking, and industry knowledge.
School Jumpers
I wanted to assure parents that we always wash all jumpers (wool, leavers and country week) on delicate washes and then hang to dry naturally. We have had this in place since the beginning of the year when a jumper was dried by our laundry and shrunk. Please encourage your student to hand wash all jumpers and dry on the line if they do not want to send to the laundry. We have discussed the material of our wool jumpers with our providers.
