Book Week 2024

Book Week at Marion took a different look this year! This is how we celebrated Book Week by providing a greater focus and emphasis on literature and fostering a strong love of reading at our school. The involved many engaging activities that immersed students and our school community in Reading and this year's theme:  'Reading is Magic'.

Open Morning

On Wednesday 21st August, we hosted an Open Morning in classes, followed by a reading session between families and students. We finished the morning off with a morning tea in the staffroom with our valued guests and visitors.  This was a very strongly attended event with 45 parents/carers and grandparents coming to see and enjoy the experience by taking part.  The feedback from those who could make it was very positive and we look forward to hosting and holding further opportunities like this for our families/community to become engaged in our learning and classrooms.

Below are some photos from the morning:

Book Week Parade

On Friday 23rd August, we held our Book Week Parade outside on the asphalt area. This year saw so many students, staff and families dressed up in their favourite character/book costumes to celebrate the event.

Below is a large collection of photos from our Parade:

Thanks to our students and community for getting involved in the Book Week celebrations this year.

The Book Week Committee
