From the Assistant Principal

Dear Families,
COMPASS INSIGHTS
As a way of managing permission in a paperless world, St Patrick's has been utilising Compass insights over the past 12 months. This Compass feature is a tool for gathering information from parents for a variety of purposes, including acknowledgement of reports and plans as well as permissions.
This year we are using Insights for permission for:
- Student Acceptable Use of Technology agreement (K-6)
- Personalised Planning - IAP sign off (Selected students)
- My Mind Check permission (5-6)
- Local Walking Excursions (K and new students)
- Authority to administer medication (coming soon for K and new students)
Publications and Media Consent (K and new students)
Please check your Compass profile just in case there is an Insights cycle requiring attention.
The above screen shot is what you will see when an insight cycle is active in your profile in both the desktop and mobile version. If you require support accessing this, please see your child's teacher.
Y-SAFE PARENT WEBINAR
Please find the link to this weeks parent webinar below. It was very informative and well worth watching, if you were unable to attend. The link will only be active for 30 days.

LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY
Parents are requested not to take their child/children out of school early as teaching time is very limited and very precious. Dental, medical appointments, weekend trips away and after school activities should be made outside of school hours, leaving enough time from the end of the school day prior to the appointment or activity.
If it becomes necessary for a student to leave school before the official finishing time, parents must come to the office and sign students out. Leaving school early is recorded as a partial absence and included in semester reports.
If leaving early, a note must be sent to the class teacher or emailed to the office before or on the morning of the day students need to leave early.
Students who need to leave earlier than normal dismissal time (3.10) on a regular basis MUST contact the office by email requesting permission from Mr Darcy. Students leaving before the final bell should only leave through the office.
Have a great week,
Jim Heelis
Assistant Principal
