All Saints Day and All Souls Day

This Sunday, 1st November, is All Saints Day which is a day that honors all saints and martyrs of the Christian faith, including both canonised saints and unknown individuals who have reached heaven. In the Roman Catholic Church, it is a Holy Day of Obligation where attending Mass is required. Mass times for Sunday are 9:00am and 5:30pm.

On Monday, 2nd November, we will celebrate All Souls Day which is a day that commemorates the faithful departed, all baptised Christians who have died and are believed to be undergoing purification in purgatory.

World Mission Month

October is World Mission Month. It is a time when our school community and Church gathers in a spirit of unity, prayer and generosity. Across continents, communities come together to celebrate a shared calling that transcends borders, languages and cultures – a living expression of a Church united in Christ and sent forth in mission.

At St Edward's our students have participated in "Free Hat Friday" and "Crazy Sock Day" to raise very valuable funds for this cause. By supporting Catholic Mission, we help provide essential aid such as food, water, education and emergency relief through Church-run programs. Together, we can bring hope and opportunity to those who need it most.

Time for a Book Hunt

Over the coming weeks, keep an eye out for library overdue notices making their way home in your child's backpack.

Now is the perfect time to start hunting through bookshelves, peeking under beds, and checking all those "safe places" for any library books that are ready to come back to the library!

If you receive a notice for a book you're sure was already returned, please don't be alarmed. Mistakes happen! Just pop a quick email over to me at cmichell@arm.catholic.edu.au, and I will happily hunt through the library shelves on our end to help track it down.

Happy reading and thank you for helping us keep our library stocked for everyone!
