1PW and 1HM did such a fabulous job on our assembly. Here are the things we shared with our school community.

Moonlit Sanctuary

Last term, Year 1 became wildlife explorers on an exciting excursion to Moonlit Sanctuary. We discovered fascinating facts about Australian animals, including kangaroos, koalas, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, pythons and emus. We learned about their unique features, senses and survival skills, as well as how some animals are nocturnal. From emus that run fast to pythons that slither and climb, we had an amazing day exploring, observing and learning about Australia’s incredible wildlife!

Religion

This term in Religion, we explored the parable of The Prodigal Son and learned about the importance of forgiveness, love and kindness. We discovered that God loves us no matter what mistakes we make and that we can always say sorry, learn from our choices and try to do better. We also learned that we should forgive others and show love and kindness, just as the father in the parable welcomed his son home with open arms.

Geography

We have begun our Geography unit on Melbourne and all the amazing places to explore and enjoy. Some favourite places include the South Melbourne Market, where you can discover delicious food and fresh produce, and the MCG, where you can watch exciting sporting events. You can discover fascinating sea creatures at the aquarium, see incredible animals at the zoo, and enjoy breathtaking city views from Eureka Tower. For fun and adventure, Luna Park is a popular choice, while Crown offers entertainment and dining. The Melbourne Museum is also a wonderful place to learn about history, science and the world around us. Melbourne truly has something for everyone!

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about data by creating survey questions, collecting information and recording our findings. We surveyed classmates about their favourite fruits and investigated the most popular car colours in the school car park. We discovered that cherries are 1HM’s favourite fruit, mango is 1PW’s favourite fruit, and white is the most popular car colour among staff!
