Learning, growing and celebrating together...
Dear Sacred Heart Kew Families,
There is always a LOT happening at Sacred Heart Kew.
Sacrament of First Eucharist
As a school community, we give thanks for the children who will celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist over the next two weekends in our beautiful Church. This special milestone marks an important step in their journey of faith, as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time.
We acknowledge the dedication of our families, parish community, teachers, and catechists who have lovingly supported our children in preparing for this sacred sacrament. Their guidance and witness help our young people grow in faith and understand the profound gift of Christ's presence in the Eucharist. Let us continue to pray for our First Eucharist candidates, that they may always treasure this precious gift and allow Jesus to guide their hearts each day.
Prep 100 Days of School
Don’t tell anyone, but this time next Friday, we have a BIG celebration at our school. Our Preps will celebrate their 100 days. One hundred school days ago, we welcomed a group of tiny humans through our school gates, some confidently waving goodbye, others holding onto a parent's hand with superhero strength, and a few wondering if it was too late to turn around and head back home. Fast forward 100 days, and what an incredible journey it has been.
Our Prep students have grown in ways that can't simply be measured by how much taller they've become. They have learned many things: letters, numbers, songs, routines, friendship skills, resilience, how to successfully open a pesky packet of skittles, and summon the incredible strength required to raise a frozen Zooper Dooper on a Friday afternoon at Tuck Shop.
Over the past 100 days, our classrooms have been filled with curiosity, laughter, endless questions, remarkable discoveries, a few lost hats, broken drink bottles and tight lunch boxes, along with an array of unnamed jumpers to open a small department store. Our Prep students have become brave problem-solvers, enthusiastic readers, budding mathematicians, talented artists, and playground negotiators of the highest order. They've discovered that mistakes help us learn, that sharing is easier than it sounds, and that lunchtime somehow arrives, incredibly slowly and finishes astonishingly quickly.
Of course, none of this happens without an extraordinary team. Thank you to our dedicated Prep teachers and learning support staff, whose patience, creativity, kindness, and seemingly endless supply of tissues, Band-Aids, encouragement, and spare pencils, make every day a success. To our Prep families, thank you for trusting us with your children's first year of school. Thank you for the lunchboxes packed with care, the bedtime reading, the early mornings, and the partnership you've built with our school community.
And to our amazing Prep students, congratulations! You have officially completed your first 100 days of school. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We certainly are. As we celebrate this milestone, we're reminded that while 100 days may sound like a big number, it is really just the beginning of a wonderful learning journey. We can't wait to see what the next 100 days will bring for you at Sacred Heart Kew. Happy 100 Days of Prep to all our Prep children next Friday. We salute you all!
Kind Regards,
Ed Weekes
