Book Week 2026 – Symphony of Stories

We are delighted to celebrate Book Week 2026 from Monday 24 August to Friday 28 August. This year's Children's Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, celebrates the power of books to inspire imagination, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading.

Throughout the week, students will participate in a range of exciting literacy activities designed to foster a love of literature and storytelling.

Home Project for Book Week

To launch our celebrations, a Book Week Home Project flyer has been sent home. Students are invited to design and create a musical instrument inspired by a favourite book, character, story, or literary theme. Families are encouraged to work together on this creative project using recycled or everyday materials where possible. Projects are due on Thursday 27 August.

Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for our Book Week Dress-Up Parade and be part of the excitement! We would love to have a wonderful audience cheering our students (and staff) on as they showcase their amazing costumes. Younger siblings are also welcome to join in the fun and parade alongside our students. We can’t wait to celebrate together!

Premier’s Reading Challenge Reminder

A friendly reminder to continue recording your reading progress for the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Please remember to update your online reading record as you complete books from the challenge list.

There is still plenty of time to enjoy discovering new stories and exploring the wonderful range of challenge books available through our local libraries, including Clayton Library. Families can access the library catalogue and find available books through the Clayton Library website:Clayton Library

The final date to complete and submit your reading record is Friday, 4 September.

We encourage all students to keep reading, exploring new authors and genres, and sharing the joy of stories. Good luck to all of our enthusiastic readers taking part in the challenge — we look forward to celebrating your achievements!

Hot Off the Press! - Spellling Bee!

We are delighted to share that the first round of the Spelling Bee has now been completed.

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in this exciting opportunity. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, courage and determination they demonstrated as they challenged themselves and showcased their spelling skills.

We would like to sincerely thank our parents and carers for your ongoing encouragement and support. Your partnership plays an important role in your child's learning journey at St Peter's, and we greatly appreciate the time and effort you invest in helping them grow in confidence and achievement.

We wish all of our participants the very best as they await the next stage of the competition and congratulate them on representing St Peter's with pride.
