Sport News

Sporting life in the Junior School has been very busy of late with the girls preparing for the different School Sport Victoria (SSV) competitions. This past week saw two such competitions.
On 16 June, our Year 6 Football team competed valiantly against our neighbouring Girls Sport Victoria (GSV) teams. None of our Year 6 girls currently play club football, but we competed strongly to finish in the middle of the pack. Our grit and determination were outstanding. I love the ''never say die'' attitude of the team. Thank you to the many parents and families that came to support the team on the day. Congratulations to Loreto who went undefeated in the tournament of eight GSV schools.
On 17 June, the SSV Regional Cross Country Championships were held at the Hastings foreshore. Charlotte G from Year 5 competed in the U11 race. It was the first time that Charlotte had progressed to Regionals after Top 10 finishes at the District and Division levels. Charlotte battled strongly and ran a great race to finish 15th of the 80 competitors. The Top 10 places qualified for State. Congratulations Charlotte on an excellent Cross Country season, and we look forward to seeing her on the track in the upcoming months.
