Hugo Carmen Medal
Well done Hugo for winning a gold medal in his snowboard race. Here is a recount of his experience written by Hugo.
The icy wind rushed past my face as I waited at the top of the GS snowboard course. I had raced many times before, but I still felt nervous. “ Three… Two… One… GO!”
I pushed off and flew through the gates. My board carved smoothly across the snow as I stayed focused on every turn. The finish line came closer and closer.
I crossed it as fast as I could and I looked at the scoreboard.
FIRST PLACE
I couldn’t believe it! My family cheered, and I couldn’t stop smiling. All the early mornings, long training sessions, and hard work had finally paid off.
As I stood on the podium with my gold medal around my neck, I knew this was a day I would never forget. Winning first place wasn’t just about being the fastest, it was proof that determination and practice can make dreams come true.

All Creatures Great and Small!
Our Year 1/2 students are buzzing with excitement as we begin our Integrated Studies topic, All Creatures Great and Small! We launched our learning with a fantastic RSPCA incursion, where students learnt what it means to be kind, caring, and responsible pet owners. Through engaging activities, they discovered how to care for animals with compassion and respect, reflecting our role as faithful stewards of God's creation. Inspired by Genesis 1:31 "God saw all that He had made, and it was very good." We look forward to exploring and celebrating the wonderful creatures God has made.
Year 1/2 RSPCA Incursion
RSPCA stands for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We learned about how to take care of animals by giving them food, water, shelter, exercise and vet care and then we played some games. It was really fun and everyone got an animal sticker. - Amelia Monaghan 1/2TC
Michelle and Jess came to visit us from the RSPCA. They came to teach us how to care for animals because they said that the animals need our help. At the RSPCA there is a cat named Max who needed their help. We all need to care for animals and people should never be mean to any animals. - Zacchaeus Nadarajah 1/2TC
Year 3/4 Visual Arts
Year 3/4 students have been exploring the art of printmaking. They created two different prints, experimenting with both positive and negative space to produce striking designs.
Their positive space prints are currently on display in G Block, while their negative space prints can be found in the I Block hallway outside the Art Room. We invite families to take a walk through these areas and admire the students' creativity and hard work.
Year 3/4 End of Term Update
The Year 3/4 students finished Term 2 with a bang, fizz, spin and blast as they celebrated an exciting conclusion to a fantastic term of Science in Integrated Studies.
Throughout the term, students investigated Physical and Chemical Sciences, exploring forces, magnetism, and the properties of solids, liquids and gases through a range of hands-on learning experiences.
Our first end-of-term event was an engaging Mad About Science incursion. Students explored chemical science through interactive activities involving polymers, acids and bases, and effervescent tablets, bringing their classroom learning to life with plenty of exciting reactions along the way.
The term concluded with our Year 3/4 Science Fair on Wednesday 24 June. Each class tackled a unique engineering challenge, designing and building stomp rockets, marble runs, wind-powered vehicles or elastic-powered vehicles. Students enthusiastically planned, tested and refined their designs before creating informative posters to showcase the science behind their projects.
It was wonderful to welcome so many members of our school community to the Science Fair. Students confidently presented their work and proudly demonstrated the creativity, problem-solving skills and scientific understanding they had developed throughout the term. It was a fantastic celebration of learning and a fitting way to finish an exciting and successful term of Science.
