BOOK WEEK 2026

šŸ“š Book Week 2026 - SYMPHONY OF STORIES

Book Week is coming up in Week 6, and we're excited to celebrate the magic of reading across our school. This year's theme, "Symphony of Stories" celebrates the way every story, character, and imagination comes together to create something truly magical. Just like the instruments in an orchestra, each colourful character and unique story plays its own important part, combining to create a wonderful symphony of storytelling.

šŸ§™ā€ā™€ļø BOOK WEEK PARADE

We'll be starting Book Week with a costume parade on:

šŸ“… Monday 24 August (Week 6)

šŸ•˜ At 9:15 am

šŸ“ In the School Gym

Ā

Students are encouraged to dress up as a favourite book character! Costumes can be simple and made from things you already have at home. There's no need to buy anything new, just have fun being creative.

Ā

Families are invited to come and watch the parade. There will be space to stand at the front and back of the Gym. You can enter through the foyer or the door near Torrens.

šŸ—³ļøVoting for Favourite CBCA Shortlisted Books

So far this Term, classes have been reading 12 shortlisted picture books from the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) awards. During Book Week, each class will vote for their favourite so we can find out which books were most loved by our students!

šŸ¤ Buddy Class Activities

On Thursday 26th August, students will join with their buddy class for fun Book Week activities. We'll be reading, creating and going on story adventures together!

Ā

We can't wait to see all the wonderful costumes and to share a big week of reading and fun in Week 6.
