Year Level Communication – Weekly Updates

All Year Levels will be sending out a weekly update to parents.  The update will be sent via COMPASS before 4pm on a Friday.

It will inform parents of what will be covered in the curriculum for the following week, provide important reminders and include any requests (eg: for parent helpers, resources, etc).

The updates will replace the Term Newsletters that have been sent out previously.

Student Opinion Survey - Years 4 to 6

The Attitudes to School Survey is an annual student survey for Year 4 to Year 12 students offered by the Department of Education to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school.

Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience. Students from Years 4, 5 and 6 at our school will participate in the survey in the next few weeks. All responses to the survey are anonymous. The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of July.

Our students will complete the survey between 12th May and the 13th June.  Parents of students in Years 4 to 6 will be provided with more information closer to the survey date.

Closing the Front School Gate

For the safety of our students could we please ask parents/visitors to ensure the front school gate is closed whenever they use it to come in or leave the school grounds.

Dogs in the Yard

A number of families walk their dogs to school with them in the morning and afternoon.

All dogs who do come to the school are to be on a lead and controlled by an adult.  All dogs, even little dogs, can sometimes be difficult for children to manage, for the safety of all community members please do not give the dog to your child to walk around the yard.

You must be in control of your dog at all times. If you have a meeting with a teacher, or you intend to come into the office or meet with a member of staff, please do not bring your dog and tie it to a post, please leave your dog at home.

We have sent all information to parents via COMPASS, please read the information and follow the instructions to register your child for the event.

During the Easter holidays, two MPS musicians from the Amado family, Thomas (4VM) and Lucas (5CS) competed in the Australian National Band Championships.

Thomas, who plays violin, viola and trombone and his brother Lucas, who plays cornet and trumpet, have been learning music for a few years and have taken their musical experiences to a new level. Their passion and dedication to this area of the arts was rewarded when their group, the Hyde Street Youth Band, earned the title of ‘National Champions’ at a competition held at MLC.

CONGRATULATIONS to Thomas and Lucas for their efforts, enthusiasm and outstanding musical skills- what a wonderful achievement!
