Principal's News

Welcome Back!
Welcome back to Term Two. I hope everyone had a restful Term One break ready for a busy Term Two.
Welcome to New Staff
At the end of last term we welcomed a new Technician, Kesh Devananthan.
At the beginning of this term, we welcome Chloe McIlwraith (Integration Aide) and Amelia Parker (Business Manager). Amelia is replacing Vicky Cia, who began Family Leave at the end of last term.
We thank our new staff for their support of our school community.
ANZAC Day
Last Thursday we held our school’s ANZAC Day Ceremony. Like the public events, our ceremony is simple and quite traditional.
ANZAC Day is a commemoration of significance not only because of the great sacrifices of World War 1, but also because as a result of World War 1 we have defined what we see as the character of modern Australia and the qualities that we see as important for us all as Australians - courage, bravery, endurance, determination, mateship and service.
ANZAC Day has come to represent so much more than the landing at Gallipoli, on this day we honour all the men and women who have participated in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world and take time to reflect on and appreciate their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their families.
I’d like to thank all the students for the respect they showed at such an important commemoration. I’d also like to thank our School Captains for their respectful leadership of our ceremony.
2025 Year 6 Trip to the Northern Territory
On Saturday 10th May, 22 of our Year 6 students will embark on a trip to the Northern Territory to visit the Yipirinya School and Uluru, accompanied by Robyn James, Ben Parker and Victoria Josephs. Cadell Duke will be leading the school during this time.
This is a nine-day trip, where our students will learn in the classrooms with the indigenous students at the Yipirinya School, visit some significant places around Alice Springs and visit Uluru for two days.
The students will present about the trip at an assembly this term and in the newsletter.
