PREP NEWS

Prep Newsletter – Week 2, Term 2
What a fantastic start we’ve had to Term 2! The Preps have settled back into classroom routines beautifully and are already showing great enthusiasm for their learning.
We’ve kicked off our Monday Yoga sessions, which have been a calming and fun way to begin our week. The children are thoroughly enjoying the chance to stretch, breathe, and move their bodies in a mindful way.
We are also so proud of the effort the Preps are putting into their home reading. It’s wonderful to hear how keen they are to practise their reading skills at home, and we truly appreciate the support from families in encouraging a love for reading. Please remember reader change over is Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
The Preps had a wonderful time learning about ANZAC Day and the significance of poppies in honoring Australian and New Zealand soldiers. They creatively made their own poppies and dressed ANZAC Ted in his army uniform to commemorate this important day in Australian history.
It’s been a joy listening to the children share stories about their school holidays and weekends. These conversations have helped us launch into our Recount Writing. The Preps have begun writing about their personal experiences, and we are so impressed by their effort and the excitement to share their work with their peers. You’ll find some lovely examples of their recounts below.
