Save the Date – 2025 Carnegie Primary School Fete is happening!

The PFA is excited to announce that the CPS School Fete will be held Saturday 13 September 2025!!

Mark your calendars and join the fun! We will have rides, food and games stalls, entertainment, competitions and more. It’ll be a day you won't want to miss!

Want to get involved?

Planning has started, and there is a lot to get done before September. We need your ideas and support to make this event fabulous!

We are calling out to anyone interested in helping out. If you’re interested in getting involved, please fill out an express of interest form: CPS Fete EOI - Google Forms

It is a great way to meet other families, support the school community and have fun doing it!

Mother’s Day Celebrations

We hope all the CPS mums had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday and enjoyed the hand-picked gifts from the Mothers & Special Person’s Stall. Thank you to Pooja Jethra, Mandi Katzenstien, Dilshas Dumasia Cathy Stacy & Lisa for coordinating this years’ stall and bringing much joy to plenty of mums and kids yesterday morning as the gifts were opened.

The PFA was also thrilled that more than 65 CPS mums attended our Mother’s Day Lunch last Friday at Grazia. We hope you all had heaps of fun and look forward to sharing some photos from the event soon. Thank you to Sasha Madden, Jenn Needham, Laura Davies and especially Elle Cato for organising this fantastic event.

CPS Beanies now available via Qkr

Our awesome new CPS beanies are now available for sale, just in time for winter! These high-quality beanies can be worn as part of the official CPS school uniform.  Not only will they help keep our kids warm this winter but are a great way to show off school pride around the community.

The beanies are one-size-fits-most and are available to order now via Qkr for just $15. Orders will be delivered to classrooms later this month.

Apples & Pears Fundraiser

It's apples and pears season! Every year, Sherwood Park Orchard receives plenty of eager visitors to pick their own fruit. The PFA has again organised for Sherwood Park Orchard to pick the apples and pears, and deliver them straight to us, fresh from the tree!

Each 2kg bag is $8.00 – a great price for farm fresh fruit, delivered to Carnegie! For every 2kg back sold to CPS families, $2 will be given back to the school.

Orders are now open in Qkr for 2kg bags of:

  • Pink Lady apples
  • Granny Smith apples
  • Packham pears

Orders will close on Wednesday 21 May. Pick up will be from the school during the week commencing 26th May (exact timing will be confirmed closer to).

Popcorn Fridays

Popcorn Fridays are in full swing again this year!  Thank you to Mandi Katzenstein for putting her hand up to coordinate Popcorn Friday this year.

Remember unlike icypoles, Popcorn Fridays alternate fortnightly between the younger and older grades. This is because there is a bit more work involved in popping all that popcorn!

This year, popcorn will be handed out at recess so the kids can enjoy it as a morning snack (one less thing for parents to pack for lunchboxes!)

Popcorn Fridays will be held on the following upcoming dates in Term 2:

  • Friday 16 May 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 23 May 2025 - Prep-2
  • Friday 30 May 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 6 June 2025 - Prep-2
  • Friday 13 June 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 20 June 2025 - Prep-2
  • Friday 27 June 2025 - Grade 3-6

Second Hand Uniform Stall

Reminder that the Second Hand Uniform Stall will be open each Friday 3:15-3:45 pm. Thank you to Rebecca Sullivan (mum of James in Grade 3) for taking over coordination of the stall. Rebecca is also seeking volunteers to help her each week, with available slots on Sign-Up.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Miranda Welham and Marina Vanstan for your hard work over many years to build up the stall into what it is today - your contribution is truly appreciated by the CPS community.
