Education in Faith at
St Cecilia's
Recently, our staff had the privilege of attending a Faith Formation Day at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre. Mary MacKillop holds special significance for our school, St. Cecilia's, as we were founded by the Josephite Sisters, the religious order she established.
During the day, we learned about this extraordinary woman, Australia's first saint, who dedicated her life to serving the poor, especially women and children who had little support. Mary MacKillop’s visionary work in founding her order and her commitment to providing education, particularly to disadvantaged children, has left a lasting impact. She believed that education could open doors to better opportunities and help lift people out of poverty—a value that continues to inspire our community today.
This week we had our beginning of term Mass, the theme was Friendship. We are incredibly lucky to have friends and we know that Jesus calls us to be a friend to others in our words and actions. We look forward to enjoying our friends over this term.
