Year 5 Camp - Sovereign Hill
The Grade 5s enjoyed going back to the 1850s when visiting Sovereign Hill for their camp in June. The first day was spent exploring Sovereign Hill by visiting the underground mines, learning about gold, recreating scenes from The Rebellion and tasting yummy raspberry drops.
The next two days students learned all about school in the 1850s. They practised their Copperplate writing, sewing, reciting poems and drawing skills. They also go to experience some old time games.
The students showed excellent enthusiasm when participating in the different activities throughout the entire camp. We hope that the ‘Yes Ma’am and Yes Sir’ continue into our 2026 classrooms.
