AUTISM INCLUSION TEACHER
2026
Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,
Last term, we had the pleasure of having Kate and Tammy from SIES come along to our staff meeting to chat about executive functioning. They shared some great ideas and tips to help us understand how things like organisation, planning, and flexible thinking really make a difference for our students. Their visit gave us lots to think about and some handy ways to support all kids in their learning.
In April, we also took some time to recognise World Autism Day and Autism Month. Our focus was all about neurodiversity, which is another way of saying everyone’s brain works in its own awesome way! We spent time in class reading stories, taking part in activities, watching videos, and chatting about how we all have special strengths and face different challenges. It was a fantastic chance to talk about what makes each of us unique and how our differences help us solve problems and learn in fun, creative ways.
I have included some links to some upcoming (online/in person) workshops and programs that you may be interested in.
