We are thrilled to share that two of our Year 6 students have earned places in the 2026 Newton Navigator's Program. Archie and Athena were chosen for their exceptional results in recent and ongoing mathematics assessments and are among only 20 students selected from across the entire Armidale Diocese to take part in this amazing opportunity.
This innovative program, running for the very first time, utilises video conferencing to connect these high-achieving learners. It offers a unique opportunity for our students to engage with and be challenged by peers of a similarly high mathematical standard. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to seeing more of our students qualify for this program in the future as they continue to excel in mathematics.
Within our school community, there are students who shine brightly, displaying exemplary dedication and academic talent. They deserve to be recognised, so again, this year we are giving students from Year 4 and above the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their talents in the world-renowned ICAS competition.
ICAS is an online academic competition that allows students to challenge their higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics and Science
ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.
If your child would like to participate in any of the ICAS assessments offered, please use the QR code below to register and pay.
We are proud to host ICAS for our students this year and encourage you to consider entering your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office if you have any questions.

This Wednesday and Thursday our K-6 students will have the opportunity to participate in some hands-on science exploration with the 'Voyager Discovery' team from the University of New England (UNE). Be sure to ask your child on Wednesday or Thursday evening: "What was the most surprising thing you discovered today?"
Students may wear the colours of the team they support with their school uniform on Wednesday 27 May.
Go the Blues!
Save the date Wednesday June 3 (Week 7) 2:50pm
#1 Early Reading - This high-impact, 20-minute information session is designed specifically for busy families. This "bite-sized" workshops will provide families of K-2 children with practical tools to support your child’s early reading journey.

K-6 students are skipping!
Jump Rope is a fantastic physical activity program run by the Heart Foundation that also raises funds for a worthy cause. By taking part, we aim to get our students active and moving, with skipping ropes available on the school grounds and encouragement for everyone to help raise funds for lifesaving research and support programs. Children may of course use their own ropes! The program will conclude with our school-wide ‘Jump Off Day’ on June 26, where you are invited to see your child show off their new skipping skills. When you register your child online, you will gain access to additional skipping resources, giving them a great reason to step away from screens and get outdoors. Register and create your own secure webpage at www.jumprope.org.au/parents. By signing up online, you and your child/ren can easily track skipping skill progress, earn virtual badges, post updates so family and friends can follow their journey, access additional skipping resources and raise funds. For more information, please visit www.jumprope.org.au/parents.
As the weather begins to cool, please note that students may transition to winter attire. During this time, students may choose to wear:
We kindly ask that you avoid mixing components (e.g., winter shirts with summer shorts), and please remember that the full winter uniform becomes compulsory for all students on 1 June.
