Dear St Michael's Community,
We have an action-packed fortnight ahead filled with engaging learning experiences, creative celebrations and important health initiatives. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support our students in all areas of school life.
Our calendar is buzzing with activity starting next week. From Wednesday, 21 October through to Friday, 23 October, the Dental Van will be visiting St Michael's to provide on-site dental check-ups for all students whose families have registered. On Wednesday, 21 October, our Year 3 and 4 students will participate in an exciting Cardytoons incursion, exploring creative cartooning and storytelling techniques. Throughout the fortnight, students across various year levels will also participate in our Inform & Empower cybersafety sessions, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
A major highlight of Term 4 is our upcoming St Michael's Art Show on Thursday, 22 October from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm! We warmly invite all families and friends to join us for a wonderful community evening celebrating the incredible artistic talents of our students. The event will feature a vibrant display of student artwork, live musical performances from our talented school choir and bands, a delicious sausage sizzle, a silent auction, raffle draws and exciting door prizes. All funds raised on the night will go directly toward purchasing a 3D printer and chop saws to enhance our visual arts and design technologies capabilities across the school. It promises to be a fantastic event for our whole community, and we look forward to seeing you all there!
Finally, an important staffing update was shared last week to Year 6K families. Kade is currently unwell and will be taking a period of leave to rest and be supported by his family. During this time, we are delighted to have Gabby step into the classroom teacher role for 6K. Gabby brings extensive teaching experience at St Michael's and will work closely alongside the Year 5/6 team to ensure a smooth transition and continuous, high-quality learning for all students. We hold Kade in our thoughts and warmly welcome Gabby to the role.
Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm across all our school events.
Warm regards,
Warmest regards
Damien Murray
