K/1

Our K/1 class has been joyfully exploring music and artmaking over the past few weeks. Students have been experimenting with rhythm, beat, pitch and dynamics, learning how music can tell a story and express feelings. In art, the students have been using a variety of materials to create colourful and imaginative pieces, inspired by what they hear and feel. It has been wonderful to see their creativity grow as they confidently share ideas through both sound and visual art.

As we move closer to the holiday break, our classrooms have been filled with a wonderful sense of reflection and creativity. The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the meaning of Lent, engaging in thoughtful discussions about kindness and personal growth. This spiritual journey has been beautifully balanced with plenty of hands-on fun; from intricate Easter crafts to vibrant colouring projects, the classes are now bursting with the bright colours.  It has been a joy to watch the students express their excitement through their artwork, and we are so proud of the care and enthusiasm they’ve brought to these seasonal activities.

Year 4

Over the term, Year 4 have made a variety of artworks on the theme of stewardship.  We have marvelled at the Walls of China in the desert landscape of Mungo National Park, admired the corroboree frogs in the alpine region of Kosciusko National Park and explored the waves of Japan, inspired by the painting ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ by Katsushika Hokusai.  The students have used a variety of media and techniques to create their masterpieces, including water colours, crayon, paint, sand and salt.  They are all on display in our classroom so feel free to pop in and see them in person!

Creative work Year 4, well done!.

5/6

We have been amazing artists this term, exploring an array of techniques! How to shade, use of different materials and colours! The highlight of our learning was our Pop Art by Andy Warhol. Students were captivated by Warhol’s bold colours and repetition. The class created their own vibrant pop art Masterpieces!

Next term, we are excited for a shift in CAPA as we turn to Music! Focusing on rhythm, beat, structure and dynamics, students will explore how these musical elements create energy, emotion and help us understand the music theory further.
