As the first term wraps up, it's been fantastic to see students and staff settling into the rhythm of another school year. We’ve made some changes to our leadership team, and we’re grateful for the flexibility and dedication shown by our staff. Jen Chatfield has stepped into the Acting Assistant Principal role; Warwick McDermott is acting as Leading Teacher, and Tina Binding is now leading Year 8 as YLC. Thanks to the depth in our team, we’re able to support Josh’s position until mid-year.
Our leadership team is busy rolling out the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), with activities planned to help us track progress and keep our goals in sight. Maximizing learning growth and supporting student wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do.
We’re putting the finishing touches on NAPLAN for 2026. Once the results are in, we’ll compare them with nationwide data to spot areas where we can improve. This ongoing review helps us keep our standards high and ensures every student gets the best possible support.
Attendance continues to be strong, and our dedicated wellbeing and student support team is working hard to meet the needs of all students. They’re using a multi-tiered system to make sure everyone gets the help they need, whether it’s academic, social, or emotional support. Thank you for your support in contacting the school to explain student absences.
Despite a few staffing challenges, we’re proud to offer a full program of subjects from Foundation to Year 10 (except for languages this year). On campus, students can access VCE, VCE-VM, and VET subjects. We also partner with local RTOs and VSV for some VCE subjects, giving students even more options. We’re currently on the lookout for an additional Maths teacher to strengthen our team.
We’re committed to keeping our school safe and healthy. Our team is regularly reviewing child safe standards, student medical information, and occupational health and safety updates.
There are some exciting dates coming up for our school community, including parent-teacher interviews, cross country, and our fun run. These events are a great chance to connect, and I hope to meet more parents and families during them.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our school. I look forward to working together throughout the year and welcome your feedback at any time. Let’s make this a great year for our school community!
