Matilda the Musical – Coming in 2026!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news — OPPS has secured the rights to Matilda the Musical in 2026! We’ve secured the rights, locked in Beaconhills (Berwick Campus) as our venue, and planning is already underway.

This time, we’re doing things a little differently. Our production will be split into two performance groups, with two houses performing each night — which means two lead casts and even more opportunities for students to shine on stage!

Lead role auditions will be held on Wednesday 3rd December, open to all students currently in Years 2–5. Students can audition with any song they feel confident performing. Our lead cast will be announced before the end of 2025 so they can start learning lines and getting excited over the holidays!

Water Safety Day – Monday 24th

Our Year 3–6 students are buzzing with excitement as they head to Aspendale Beach on Monday for our annual Water Safety Day. The program teaches essential water safety skills and helps students build confidence in and around the water.

Alongside the program, students will take part in hands-on learning experiences with their teachers, exploring the beach environment and linking it to their classroom learning.

Please make sure your child comes fully prepared with:

  • Swimwear
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • SunSmart t-shirt (shoulders covered)
  • Hat
  • Water bottle
  • Packed snack and lunch

Book Borrowing – Final Week!

A friendly reminder that next week is the last week for Book Borrowing. All books need to be returned to our libraries by Monday 1st December, so our annual stocktake can begin.

Overdue slips will be sent home later in the week. We’d really appreciate your help encouraging children to check bookshelves, bedrooms, and those sneaky spots around the house where books like to hide! Any unreturned books will incur a replacement charge.

Buddy Excursion Fun!

Our Preps and Year 5/6 students had a fantastic day today celebrating their Buddy Program with a picnic lunch and play time at Hicks Reserve. The sun was shining, the playground was busy, and the smiles on their faces said it all.

This program continues to be a favourite tradition at OPPS, and we can’t wait to welcome our 2026 Prep and Year 6 buddies into the program next year.
