St Vincent de Paul - Winter Appeal 2025

Thank you to the amazing Mum's who volunteered their time yesterday Tuesday 1st July 2025 to create the snack packs for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. I am pleased to report that we created a grand total of 139 snack packs, each containing 7 items (see photo below). In addition, there are several boxes of groceries that were collected by Vinnies today. Congratulations StMM - you should be very proud of the difference you are making in the lives of those less fortunate.

Pope Francis students blanket making

Our Pope Francis students have given up their lunchtime over the last few weeks to make two no sew blankets for donation to St Vincent de Paul. The blankets were collected today by Vinnies when they visited our school to collect the snack packs that have been created.

Term 2 - Guided Christian Meditation

During this term I have had the privilege of introducing to the students in each year level, Guided Christian Meditation. For some it was a new concept, others had done it before. Students participated peacefully and learnt breathing techniques which can be used when they are feeling a little anxious or overwhelmed.  It was wonderful to see so many parents join and take 10 minutes out of their busy schedule to be still and adopt the principles of breathing to relax and be calm. Following Meditation students and parents engaged in ‘Mindful Talk’.  I hope it was enjoyed by all. Next term, we will return to in class SPaR’s with sacramental craft. The theme will be the Year of Jubilee. I look forward to seeing many parents join us again in Term 3.

Work Life Integration

I recently came across an excellent article on Catholic Mom about setting boundaries between work and life. Specifically the article talks about setting four boundaries in order to achieve that balance. What I'm learning about work life integration as a mother. This doesn't just apply to mother's but father's too.  If you have some time over the holidays,  it's worth the  read.  It's not a long article, but definitely worth the read.

Have a restful winter break. Go gently, every blessing
