STEM

Kindergarten

This term Kindy have been learning about forces (push and pull). Part of their learning was creating a marble run, a toy and even a presentation to their peers. Kindergarten students have worked so hard this term and showed off their learning at their STEM showcase. Congratulations Kindergarten on another amazing term of STEM!

Stage 1

Stage 1 have been learning about how environments encourage living things to thrive. Stage 1 students researched and created model environments for their chosen living thing. Stage 1 were very proud and excited to show their designs at the STEM showcase. It was so great to see so many families join us in celebrating Stage 1’s learning. Stage 1 have worked very hard and should be very proud of all of their efforts this term!

Stage  2

This term Stage 2 have been learning about how we use food and fibre products in our everyday lives. In groups, students designed a drip irrigation system that would support the growth of plants on an Australian Farm. Through a lot of trial and error and remodelling, Stage 2 created and tested a model irrigation system using mainly cups and straws. Congratulations Stage 2 on showing perseverance, determination and grit in STEM this term!

Stage 3

Stage 3 have been learning about sustainable farming techniques and how that impacts our food and fibre. Stage 3 researched and created presentations on a range of topics including AI in farming, Hydroponic vs traditional farming and the cotton industry in Australia. Well done Stage 3 on taking responsibility for your learning in STEM this term!
