Dear MacKillop Community

Semester Two has started well, with students back into the rhythm of College life. The Swimming Carnival had strong participation and a very positive environment, so congratulations to all involved.

This Bulletin highlights the success of our first senior school trip, which was a ski trip to New Zealand during the last term break. I would like to thank staff, students and families for their support of this trip. The feedback has been extremely positive, with many students sharing with me the many benefits to themselves and our community. We plan on a dedicated trip every two years, and already have a lot of names on the list for 2027!

Thank you to families who recently participated in the Parent/Teacher conferences. I encourage families and students in Year 7 and Year 8 to attend our 2026 Year 8 and Year 9 Subject Selection afternoon on Tuesday 12 August. You will be able to meet directly with staff involved in the electives offered in 2026. For 2026 Year 9 students, Steve Hallaran, State Manager of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award will be available to discuss this exciting new initiative.

We have been so pleased with our extra-curricular activity participation in 2025, whether this be in sport, academic pursuits or the arts. We are currently developing a new online platform to more efficiently manage participation for students. We plan on trialling this for Term 4, with an aim to fully implement this in 2026.
