Welcome to Performing Arts for 2026

This term, the spotlight is on Drama as students explore character, creativity and expression.....

Our Prep to Grade 2 students are diving into the world of Drama through emotions. From giant grins to trembling voices and stomping feet to tiptoeing toes, students are discovering how their faces, bodies and voices can show exactly how a character feels. Through playful role play, storytelling and drama games, they will practise turning simple feelings into big, bold performances and stepping into the shoes of all sorts of characters.

Students in Years 3 to 6 are launching into an energetic unit on improvisation, where imagination leads the way and anything can happen. Through fast paced games and creative challenges, they will invent characters, build scenes and respond to surprising scenarios in the moment. It’s all about quick thinking, teamwork and saying “yes” to new ideas aiming to become more confident, flexible and expressive performers.

The Performing Arts leaders will be responsible for helping lead Holy Spirit in all things Performing Arts. This will include helping to organise and run Performing Arts events, including this year's production, writing the Performer of the Week awards each week, reading out the Performing Arts STAR award at assembly, and helping prepare the Performing Arts room for lessons.

Hi, I’m Eve and I’m so excited to be a Performing Arts Leader this year! I’m really looking forward to being involved in everything Performing Arts has to offer, from singing, dancing and acting to music and drama. Performing is where I feel most confident and creative, and I can’t wait to keep learning, improving and sharing that energy with others. I’ve been playing piano since I was five and I’m excited to continue developing my skills this year. Outside of school, you’ll usually find me on the court or the field playing netball, basketball, cricket or footy, or spending time with friends. I’m especially excited for our school Production, which is always the highlight of my year, and I’m looking forward to an amazing year ahead in Grade 6 filled with lots of fun and performance opportunities.

Hi, I’m Altessa and I’m so excited to be a Performing Arts leader this year! I’ve always loved everything about performing, especially dancing and acting, and being on stage is where I feel most confident and happy. Since learning Performing Arts at Holy Spirit, Sherree has inspired me to dream big and I hope to one day have a career in the Arts as an actress. Right now, I’m building my skills through extra singing lessons and Stage School, where I get to practise singing, acting and dancing all together. I’m also part of an agency called Bubblegum Casting, which is an exciting first step toward my future career. This year, I’m really looking forward to helping out in the Performing Arts room and especially being part of my final primary school Production, making it a year to remember.

Hi, I'm Kira. This year, I’m really excited to continue growing in Performing Arts as I work towards my dream of one day becoming a principal dancer with the The Australian Ballet. Performing has always been something I love, so I’m looking forward to every chance to be on stage and develop my skills in music, dance and drama. I’m also excited to keep learning with Sherree, who is always kind, encouraging and supportive in every lesson. She creates such a welcoming space that even students who might feel unsure about Performing Arts can find themselves joining in, building confidence and maybe even discovering a hidden talent. I can’t wait for all the fun and creative experiences the year will bring, including special events like Christmas Carols and our Production.

I am so very grateful for the energy and enthusiasm that these fabulous leaders have already brought to the Performing Arts room, and together we look forward to lots of fun and learning in the Performing Arts room this year.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Term 1!
