Student Advisory Committee (SAC)

The first School Advisory Committee meeting for this year was held on 17th February. The focus of the meeting was the Annual Action Plan (AAP) and School Improvement Plan (SIP).

In the meeting, we discussed the contents of the plans and why they are so important to the operations of the school.

·        The SIP is a 4-year plan that focuses on strategic and long-term goals.

·        The AAP is a 1-year plan that looks at how we will work towards these goals, by taking certain actions and monitoring our progress.

·        Both plans rely on collecting accurate data from staff, students and families.

The committee spent most of the meeting looking at the annual MACCIS survey data from late 2025. This anonymous survey is completed by staff, students in Grades 4-6, and families across the whole school community.

We learned how important this survey data is for planning what we want our school to look like in the years ahead, and how we are going to get there. We encourage all families to complete the 2026 survey later this year, so you can have a voice in these decisions. Without this data, the leadership team has to rely on student and staff feedback alone.

Please have a look at the diagram below to see how the survey data contributes to our school planning process.
