Iramoo Young Stewards Program
The GREEN Lab @ Iramoo is part of the Moondani Balluk Indigenous Academic Unit, located on the St Albans Campus of Victoria University. It is a collaboration between the University, The Friends of Iramoo and the Cairnlea Conservation Reserves Committee of Management, with a principle focus on managing and restoring the grasslands in the Cairnlea area.
The GREEN Lab @ Iramoo is working to establish the environmental volunteering group ‘Iramoo Young Stewards’ for young people aged 16-29.
They are having their inaugural meeting on 11 November 2023 and would like to encourage young people living in the west of Melbourne to get involved to help look after our precious remnant native grasslands and the threatened species that they support.
Victoria University currently have resources to assist with the exploration, development and implementation of ideas (to be developed by the Stewards) that help in the protection, restoration and celebration of our grasslands. They are aiming for young people with a diversity of skills and interests to be involved, including art, music, performance, science, design, IT, community development, culture and so on.

Become a Foster Carer with Anglicare
Anglicare Victoria provides support to some of the most vulnerable families in Victoria, including children who do not live in a safe environment and have been exposed to abuse or neglect. The Government’s Child Protection Unit has declared that our local communities are currently in crisis in meeting the increasing demand for placing children in Foster Care. Anglicare's role is to recruit, train and support the special families who voluntarily provide foster care to vulnerable children. Due to the current crisis, we are desperately seeking to increase the number of foster carers to ensure these children can be placed in a safe and nurturing home.
If you are interested in becoming a foster carer, please see the information below.
