Student Wellbeing

Welcome to our Junior Campus Social Workers

Hi everyone!

We’re Macarena Morella and Joe Tynan, two recent additions to the Wellbeing Team taking on the role of Social Worker.

With seven years of experience in social work, I've had the privilege of working across various settings, from community centres to child protective services, specialising in adolescent and dependency issues. At heart, I'm all about the students and achieving overall wellbeing. My main role involves supporting students on their wellbeing journey. This means regular check-ins and ongoing counselling sessions, where we dive into practical tools and strategies. My aim is to help these amazing young minds achieve emotional, mental and psychological wellbeing in every aspect of their lives. - Macarena Morella

I come from a background in family services, working as a counsellor for young people experiencing problems at home. Like Macarena, my role is to make sure that students are not only achieving their academic goals, but also striking a healthy balance with their social and emotional wellbeing. I’m available for students to drop in and discuss issues at school or home, and follow up with any young people who have been identified as needing additional support. My aim is to provide students with evidence-based strategies to tackle the problems life throws at them. – Joe Tynan

You can find us in the Wellbeing offices, next to C-Block or in the library foyer. Looking forward to making a positive impact together!
