Year 10 News

The Year 10 students have started what will be a very busy term of preparing for Year 11 studies at the University Campus.
Throughout this term, the students will be selecting their course for Year 11, looking at their career pathway for the future and what occupations they are interested in choosing.
2027 Pathways
The students begin preparing for Course Counselling, where they start to explore their preferred pathway and subject options for 2027. Course Counselling will formally take place in Term 3; however, conversations with students are already underway, with talks by the VCE-VCE and VCE-VM Leaders held earlier last term. This week they attended Job Skills Expo, the parent information evening and had a talk by the Defence Forces.
Students’ future aspirations will direct them to either
- Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or
- Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCEVM)
Once students have indicated which pathway they prefer (at this stage) they are given instructions in "Becoming Familiar with the Kurnai VCE/VCEVM Handbook" which outlines subject descriptors.
